Lovin you like we should

BetterHollywood.com has reached a new record of hits for the month of October and we'd just like to thank everyone who checks out the site and supports us. You rule, and you know you rule!

"Robot-ussin" will be showing in the 9th addition of MicroCineFest. For those who don't know us that well, MicroCineFest is our original inspiration to make better films. They gave us our original start by being the first film festival to feature a Better Hollywood film. This year is extra special since, without having an open call for entries, they've invited us to show "Robot-ussin." Make a special effort this year to find the G-Spot and see not only our film but a shitload of other films hand-selected by Skizz Cyzyk and staff!

Stop the press's's! Check out the Baltimore CityPaper for Better Hollywood's angry retorts to the editor about their lame-ass Livelihood reviews!

In our news, bare with us while we update content on the site. We have a lot of great stuff to share with you. Alot of this stuff is pending formal premieres on television and film festivals. We are planning some good Chunks as well. The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad is in the rough rough preliminary stages of recording their new album, so maybe some outtake stuff from that will start to surface. Also, Hugburn! is now available from Atomic Books!

Oh yeah, check us out on the IMDB.

Post-Livelihood

First off, we'd like to thank everyone who came out to the "Livelihood"/"Rental" movie premieres. It was quite simply, a smashing success for Ryan, Tracey, Stachurski, Curtis, Armando, and everyone involved in these pictures, which was a boatload of folks. I think it was, quite honestly, the first coming together of Baltimore's new breed of filmmakers en masse for something big other then a competition or festival. Not only did numerous filmmakers from Bmore have a hand in this feature, but as I looked through the packed crowds of the premiere, I saw many groups attending and supporting this film, and that was truly an awe-inspiring sight. Let's make some more stuff and bigger stuff together and really show to the world that Baltimore really IS "The Greatest City In America" OR MORE THEN JUST "The City That Reads" because we'll give this city and this world so many kickass films, no one would even have time to read! We can do it!

Major Update!

Check out the CHUNKS page for a special sneak preview of two short "scenes" made by Better Hollywood for Ryan Graham's "Livelihood." The premiere is nearly a week away so be sure to go to the Livelihood website and pre-order your ticket which are in limited supply.

On October 12th at the premiere at the Creative Alliance, The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad will be playing a set at 7:30pm right before the film. The set will feature songs from Livelihood's soundtrack. It will be crash n' burn set not to be missed!

Finally all the talk about CAmm Slamm '05 got us wondering why our film from CAmm Slamm '04 was not on the website. So for your viewing pleasure check out our FILMS page for a good ole helping of 2 day filmmaking madness. The film is called "Bringing Your Balls Back" and was by far our most difficult to make CAmm Slamm film just because everything kept going wrong. From the windy, remnants-of-a-hurricane day to the DVD failure at the screening; this little film took Better Hollywood to hell and back, probably making it more fun for you all to watch. Though I still remember how miserable the whole ordeal was everytime I watch it. Enjoy!
