Lovin you like we should
BetterHollywood.com has reached a new record of hits for the month of October and we'd just like to thank everyone who checks out the site and supports us. You rule, and you know you rule!
"Robot-ussin" will be showing in the 9th addition of MicroCineFest. For those who don't know us that well, MicroCineFest is our original inspiration to make better films. They gave us our original start by being the first film festival to feature a Better Hollywood film. This year is extra special since, without having an open call for entries, they've invited us to show "Robot-ussin." Make a special effort this year to find the G-Spot and see not only our film but a shitload of other films hand-selected by Skizz Cyzyk and staff!
Stop the press's's! Check out the Baltimore CityPaper for Better Hollywood's angry retorts to the editor about their lame-ass Livelihood reviews!
In our news, bare with us while we update content on the site. We have a lot of great stuff to share with you. Alot of this stuff is pending formal premieres on television and film festivals. We are planning some good Chunks as well. The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad is in the rough rough preliminary stages of recording their new album, so maybe some outtake stuff from that will start to surface. Also, Hugburn! is now available from Atomic Books!
Oh yeah, check us out on the IMDB.

Oh! You guys nailed those no-nothing-about-movies-but-are-still-the-professional-city-paper-writing-every-single-day asswipes to the muh'fucking WALL! I imagined them just opening the letters and not knowing what to do with them because they are so stupid. Like, they would get a letter and just start trying to eat it...or like, they would finally get it open and just roll a lacey and smoke the afternoon away, leaving articles and reviews to be written in a deadline and crystal meth-induced fury the night before presses.
Glad to hear that the most awesomest movie ever made in The New Baltimore Film Scene is still the most awesomest movie ever made in The New Baltimore Film Scene!
You so crazy!
Did you notice that they gave a good review to that other movie you worked on? Yep.
That movie was good. I don't care what happened between the director and me. I didn't agree with a lot of the way it was done (prioritizing performance over picture) but that is a large part of the good-ness in it — acting (especially because a complete lack of regard for lighting was prevalent).
All in all. I though that the story was on-track and well-told. In fact, I liked the story when I first read the script...
...last November.
Hey, how the fuck did the people at IMDB get wind of you guys?
That movie did turn out well, aside from the lighting and some sound-mix stuff.
I just think it's interesting that it got an "outline the plot for three paragraphs and then give a one-sentence editorial comment" review in a sidebar towards the front of the paper, while our movie got a one-paragraph "rip it to shreds" review alongside the Hollywood movies in the back of the paper. The differences in formatting and placement alone are odd, but it's even stranger that the reviews were written by the same person, yet the style of the reviews are completely different.
Nikc submitted Robot-Ussin to IMDB. Since it played in a film festival it qualified for an entry. Our movie will also be in there, since it had two public screenings that can be confirmed by outside sources (reviews on websites, notices in newspapers, etc).
You should also comment about the pending show for the DMFS in Jan/Feb...
