Thank You Baltimore!
The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad's "Die Humpin'!" shares top honors with the Kelly Bell Band for best local album of the year in this year's City Paper Reader's Poll. Thanks for all of you wonderful folks who voted for us. Totally unexpected and caught us all by surprise. We honestly thought we'd get something like "Worst costumes" or something. Anyways, to let you guys know, we auditioned alongside 50+ bands from all over the country (which were handpicked from thousands of submissions) for an upcoming FOX tv show called The Search for the Next Great American Band. The show will air October 19th on FOX. We didn't make it to the round of finalists, but we're hoping we left a lasting impression on America and the producers of the show, enough to put us on TV. So, if any of you are watching FOX in the coming weeks or perusing online and see promos for the show, let us know, and the first person who spots us on TV in an ad or promo will get free stuff. -Mike
VEGAS!

THE DMFS IS OFF TO VEGAS! TO POSSIBLY BE THE "NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND!"
We got T-shirts now!
It's official, the DMFS has T-shirts! Only 12 bucks! Or go for the combo of the "DIE HUMPIN'!" CD release and T-shirt for only 20 bucks! Wear your DMFS "I THINK I GOT A HARD-ON!" T-shirt with pride! This summer we're actually going back to films and finishing the long-awaited "Penis Redux" project. Sorry we took so long, but that's what procrastinating perfection takes. ;) Also, we're pondering to sign up for American Idols upcoming show, "American Band." We got some music videos for the DMFS in the works which should be hilarious and fun. We're still chugging along with a few select shows around the area in the summer, check back on the DMFS page for all the latest show updates. Other then that, we've taken to enjoying the summer and plan to do so as much as possible, as should you.
All up in the City Paper and elsewhere....
Photo by Christopher Myers The DMFS is a featured story in this week's Baltimore City Paper! Many thanks to Jess Harvell for sitting down and chatting with us. A big thanks also to Racer's Bar on Harford Road for not freaking out about us being there in costume for the interview. If you are a beer drinker or just looking for a good time and could eat free peanuts all day, be sure to make a visit and get yourself a 2fer! Tell them the DMFS sent you! And they'll probably give you a weird look of course, but that's okay, because the beer selection is always nice and the peanuts are always free. TIP YOUR BARTENDER! We got an album review of the Die Humpin! album from the folks at Baltimore@home.com Thanks to Brian Campbell for reviewing our new release and had these kind words to say: "Let’s put it this way, this record is so funny and good musically that I listened to it musically. It is not too long and dragged out (38 minutes) like a lot of records, and it is catchy enough to grab and hold your attention the whole time it is playing. A lot of records have peaks and valleys, and the valleys usually are where the listener gets bored and loses interest in the music. Die Humpin’ somehow has none of those valleys, at least none that I noticed.
If you want to laugh, and perhaps cry, then listen to Die Humpin'. You might come out of it with a different outlook on life … or maybe not."In other news, we've been YTMNDed!!!!!!!! Someone took our "You're Too Skinny" song off the DIE HUMPIN' album and used it, quite effectively might I add, to make a comment on Keira Knightley's figure. Awesomeness. It is an honor to get YTMNDed and we fully encourage other fans to make YTMND's for the DMFS! Show us your YTMND creations and the band will send you special gifts! -Mike
